Every year the pediatric residents go to Hilton Head, South Carolina for a medical retreat. All of the families get to go too. We left on Friday afternoon as soon as Josh got home from work and drove the 3 hours. The girls did awesome on the drive and pretty much slept the whole way. Saturday morning Josh had meetings but they only lasted until noon. After the girls napped we headed out to the beach. They had a fabulous time!!! They played in the water and sand. The licked their fingers to taste the salty water. The ran up and down the beach trying to give the birds "a verrry verrry verry feshall (special) treat" of mud. It was more or less the girls chasing the birds throwing mud but to them it was all the same! After we left we realized we did not get 1 picture of the 4 of us together, but oh well! All in all it was a great trip and we had such a fun time together as a family!!!! ps... i have tried all day to get picasa to let me post more than 4 pictures at a time, but to no avial. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? it is making me C R A Z Z Z Z ZY!

i HATE poop!
its just gross and stinky and i can't like it. i wish the whole potty training thing either came just a tad bit easier OR that we as mothers didn't have to deal with it. what about a nany coming in just to do potty training. great idea, don't you think? the nanny would just show up first thing in the morning and deal with all of the poop through out the day and then go home after they were in bed.
Basically, I have realized I like my children much more when they don't poop their pants.

Why would you do that?
Today, both of the girls were just on one. And I mean ON ONE. Maybe I didn't get the best of sleep last night so I was a little on edge, but they were just doing things to get under my skin. For some reason (and honestly I don't remember which one it was) I sent Emery to the corner. When it was time for her to come out, I asked her why in the world would she do that. She looks me in the eyes and says "be be for because be cause I'ne naughty." I just busted out laughing. A little bit later I heard her say the same thing to Josh. She is such a hoot!!!!
here are just a few pictures of Mimi throwing herself a "good one" because I wouldn't let her look at the camera before the pictures were taken. She is having a hard time with the concept that the pictures must be taken BEFORE you can look at them. Hopefully one day she will get it!

IS THAT BETTER????
Those silly girls of ours have started a new (and very exciting i might add) tradition, shall we call it, to the morning routine. EVERY single morning Mimi wakes up and goes and talks to Ava through her door. Emery can open the door to her room but not the one to Ava's so she just stands outside of her room and waits. So then Ava gets up and opens the door for her. They laugh, giggle, and hug each other and then RUN to Mimi's closet. They hang out there for a little while just playing and being sweet. (in the mean time, i fall back to sleep) Then.... they tiptoe tiptoe tiptoe to my room, get right up next to my side of the bed, put their sweet little faces R I G H T up next to mine and yell "IS THAT BETTER MOM" as they turn on the lights!!! "MOM, CAN YOU SEE?" "I CAN SEEEE SOOOO MUCH BEDDER WID THE LIGHT ON." "DON'T YOU LIKE DAT BEDDER?" I must give them the ol' evil eye cause they both look at each other, turn off the light, and say "SHHHHH mom's is sleeping". They go back to Mimi's closet to play (and probably discuss how MOM should be a little happier in the mornings and how if she doesn't wake up happy she doesn't get to get out of bed... oh wait, is that such a bad thing?!??!). Finally, they both MARCH into the room and Mimi' directly states "I'nnnaaa eat. Put umm cloves on. Goes down steers." (translation: mother dear, i am really hungry. would you please make me some delicious and nutritious breakfast so i no longer hunger. please clothe your body and let us make way down stairs). Needless to say... I OBEY!!!!!!!!!!!
*****as a side note. if you are looking for a new ceiling fan/light for perhaps your bedroom and notice on the box that it has this great new fandangled gadget of a remote control to work your light and think WOW what a great idea....... you might want to rethink your decision. *****

Who's the spoiled brat? Me, that's who.
When I was gone in Texas this summer, Josh surprised me for my birthday (and our 5th anniversary) with new counter tops. They are absolutely beautiful. I had no idea he was doing this.
This picture is when we first looked at the house before we bought it. You can see that the counter/blacksplash was a small white tile. The counter space is quite small. He had the door to the downstairs bedroom moved over a few feet so the new cabinets would fit and for more counter top space.
This is what I came home to. The install date for the granite was 08/15/08. Plywood isn't the easiest thing to clean or wipe off! You can also see in the side of this one the new additional cabinets.
This is the front view of the new cabinets.
The day before the counter was installed, we had to take everything off and take the sink out. You can see how far over the door frame is now.
TA-DAA!!!!!!!!!!!! The pictures of course do NOT do the counters justice.
There is so much space here. Before, the counters only went to right behind the sink.
Josh has changed out the old light plugs to black with chrome face plates. He just has a little bit more wiring for the light switch.
Incredibly deep sink. I had an entire load of dishes just on one side. Its crazy how deep they both are.
Josh, they are beautiful! Thank you for the great surprise. I love you!!!
